Planting Trees for
Long-Term Success

A tree is more than a short-term landscaping feature. It is a long-term investment in your property — and the decisions made before and during planting can affect its health, safety, and appearance for decades.

The Right Tree for the Right Place

More Than Choosing a Species

A tree that looks appropriate at planting may eventually outgrow the space, interfere with structures or utilities, or require ongoing corrective work. Before recommending a tree, we consider:

  • Client goals and preferences
  • Available planting space and mature canopy spread
  • Sunlight, exposure, and drainage conditions
  • Nearby buildings, driveways, utilities, and other trees
  • Privacy, shade, screening, or wind protection goals
  • Long-term maintenance and plant health needs

We source trees from trusted regional nurseries and select species and sizes based on the site, project goals, availability, and long-term suitability.

Whether you are planting one tree or planning for an entire property, we help you make decisions that support long-term tree health and reduce preventable problems in the future.

Planting Projects of All Sizes

What We Can Help With

Tree planting is an elective investment in your property. Whether you have a specific tree in mind or are still exploring your options, we help guide the process from species selection through installation.

A single tree selected with purpose — shade, beauty, or replacement
Thoughtful additions to enhance your home’s landscape
Strategic plantings for privacy, wind protection, or screening
Planting following construction or site disturbance
Larger-scale planting for commercial or municipal sites
Multi-tree projects planned for long-term canopy goals
Restoration, ecological, or woodland plantings
Long-range planning for an entire property or landscape
Every elective planting starts with a conversation. Some projects are straightforward enough for an estimate visit. Others benefit from additional species research, site evaluation, or a full consultation before any decisions are made. We help you figure out the right starting point — there’s no obligation to move forward until you’re confident in the plan.

Why Proper Planting Matters

Many Tree Problems Begin at Installation

A tree may survive an improper planting, but it can develop structural, root, or health problems that become more difficult and expensive to correct over time. Common problems we see include:

Trees planted too deeply
Poor species selection for the site
Trees placed too close to structures or utilities
Circling or damaged roots
Improper mulching
Unnecessary or incorrect staking
Inadequate watering after installation
Trees planted without considering their mature size

Watering & Establishment Care

After the Tree Goes In

One of the most common reasons newly planted trees struggle is inadequate watering after installation. New trees require consistent watering while their root systems become established.

Rainfall alone is often not enough, especially during hot, dry, or windy conditions. We provide initial watering at installation and clear guidance for continued care.

Clients may also schedule additional follow-up services for an added cost, including:

  • Watering support visits
  • Establishment inspections
  • Structural pruning
  • Plant Health Care
  • Other recommendations based on tree and site
