Last night we performed a prescribed burn at the Blue Pine property. We had a section that we've been intensively managing for buckthorn. The conditions were perfect last night for a burn. See MoreSee Less

David got some hang time this week. Plus some gnarly removal photos.

Just a side note, our baby is due any day. Operations will be slowed through the holidays.

Some successful EAB stories. We treated these in 2024. You can see the galleries compartmentalizing nicely. We performed a reduction prune and crown clean on the large ash over the house and a clearance prune on the maple. The ash over the pool had major storm damage that we pruned and shaped last year. This year we reduced the crown further and enhanced structuring. In 3-5 years it'll be ready for a final shaping. See MoreSee Less

I beLEAF in you…you got this…. See MoreSee Less

1 billion ash trees + the threat of emerald ash borer = one big problem.

Our ash forests are highly vulnerable to EAB, and it’s important to manage them now using strategies like diversifying tree species to ensure these important areas stay forested. 🌲🌳

But to accomplish that scale of sustainable forest management, we need strong forest products markets to fund work like proactive harvesting and planting other resilient native tree species.

You can help! By choosing Minnesota-grown wood, such as ash products from flooring to furniture, you can support local businesses and local forests. πŸ’š
